PANDA!

So I walk by this anteprima shop every day on my way to work. And I noticed today that they have a panda bag! I LOVE pandas...I don't know what it is about them maybe its that they are chinese and endangered..but i think they are just sooo CUTE. And i can't even handle how cute this bag is!

So tell me this lovelies, would you be my friend if i carried this bag around? Or would you think that I am a total freak? I am not even sure if I can pull of this bag...I am not Japanese harajuku cool or anything. But I just love how adorable this bag is! What do you think? Until next time!

Bond No. 9 Perfume

Lovelies, I have found a new perfume obsession! Yesterday I spent my lunch break walking around Sephora and I came across this amazing smell from Bond No. 9, The Scent of Peace. It smells so great and I think it is now my second favorite smell after Diesel Fuel for Life. I am really in the market for a new wear to work smell because the one I have been currently wearing has no name on the bottle and I don't know what it is. I probably should google it.

Isn't the bottle cute too? The only problem is that this perfume is S$385 dollars! That is like $270 USD or something! So I probably won't be buying this perfume any time soon.

I also loved this bottle! But not the scent as much....

How cute are they? Until next time, xxoo!

PS I just spent sometime googling my wear to work perfume. All i knew was that its pink and has a fairy sitting on top...it took a while but i finally found it. Anna Sui Secret Wish Magic Romance...cannot believe I bought something with such a dorky name. It definitely is time for a new perfume!

Being a better me...a look back at how freakishly motivated I was

Remember one year ago (almost to the day) when I blogged about how I was going to be a better me and accomplish all these things?! Well they didn't really happen at all! Things were going great until I went home in June and started a new job and then everything fizzled out. I have to say that I am not nearly as unhappy as I was a year ago and I have a plan for my future that I am going to stick with so I think maybe I don't need all these little things to motivate me...but still maybe I should go back to them!

1. Learn spanish- living here has made me realize how important it is to know more languages in the hospitality world...and if i want to work in los angeles spanish will be very useful. a year later i did not finish my spanish class...the people in the class were too ridiculously retarded and it was painful to sit through. at least i tried?

2. Learn floral design- it seems soooo fun and and i think it will be great for event planning a year later i only finished the first beginner chunk of classes and never returned...even though i now live a 3 minute walk away. pretty pathetic as one of the reasons i wanted to live at my new apartment was how close the flower arranging place was!

3. Learn calligraphy- i totally need better handwriting a year later i have not been able to find a place to learn it in Singapore...i guess i should just practice myself

4. Start learning web design- ditto number two. I have to say that this new job has made me more familiar with how websites work...however i still really want to take a class on web/design stuff

5. Learn to cook actual food- i think this is inspired by this cooking for beginners book i saw at the bookstore. Erm all i can say is that i can make a really tasty sandwich now!

6. Exercise more/ just be healthier- if I am going to be this much more awesome person and love life more...well i need to be super healthy so I can enjoy life for a longer time. You know unless i die in a freak accident. Yay the first goal i actually succeeded in! I've been going to yoga for almost a year...and now p and i hit the gym a few times a week.

7. Practice chinese- i should take advantage of living in this crazy asian country right?! I think my chinese listening skills are much better now. And while crazy taxi drivers never understand my english (i have perfect english!) they can always understand my chinese!

8. Spend less money on things...and save it to spend on experiences- i want to be less materialistic i still like buying stuff and i doubt thats going to change.

9. Take yoga/pilates- it seems to make people more zen and i want to continue on this zen streak that i have been on totally have been going to yoga for a year! and people are right it makes me feel really zen

10. Read the newspaper at least twice a week- its scary how little i know about the current going ons of the world sometimes i read online news...but i have to say that reading the gives me anxiety...like i always worry about whats going on...like right now im obsessed with learning more about japan bc i feel like something like this could happen in california and i think my home would be swallowed up for sure if it did!

11. Say YES to more things- i dont want to miss out on any opportunity because i am scared or worried what others will think i think i succeeded in this! in the last year i've done a lot more things i probably would have never tried at home. for instance i went on a vacation with some girl i barely knew...good experience but probably won't happen again!

12. Focus on me- sometimes i get caught up in what everyone else is doing and how i compare, but it really doesn't matter does it? I am my own person, and these 11 months I am going to focus on bettering myself! i think i am getting better at this?

13. Travel around Asia- if I am stuck in this place, I want to see all the amazing places that surround it total success! with about a trip a month planned this year...this is going to be a great year!

14. Stop HATING on Singapore- whether I like it or not I am stuck here for 11 more months, so maybe I can stop focusing on the negative and focus on the positives...like the great friends I have met! FAIL i still dislike singapore...however i don't think i complain about it as much!

15. Take more pictures- pictures are like moments in time, and I want to remember every moment I can when I am old! I have a new dslr camera that i took on two vacations so far...so i think im slowly improving.

16. Wear Sunscreen- I have noticed that I am getting sun spot/freckles on my arms...and I don't want skin cancer i wear sunscreen more often and am freakishly pale now...but i don't wear it every day. I should right?

17. Read more- but not just easy summer beach reads, but also legitimate works of literature and business-y books. Does someone know of a good reading list/book I should read next? LOVE reading! I think my mind is in the right place...like i own a bunch of great books...finishing them is another story.

18. Develop a basic understanding of wine- that just seems very important in the hospitality industry. And I already bought the Wine for Dummies book when I first got here so I really need to start reading that. total fail...my wine book is still unopened.

19. Network- even though it is Singapore and I have zero intentions of staying here longer than i have to...its good practice for when it actually counts. And I think I am terrible at networking!networking opportunities come often with this job...but i can't say i actively seek out opportunities to network.

20. Walk more- I really want those funny reebok-make-your-ass-look-great sneakers! And I also just realized how close to each other everything is in Singapore erm i have the fun sneakers but i still like taking the taxi!

There is still alot to work on for this year! Until next time, xxoo!

Tiffany Locks

So I really love the tiffany keys...I have been lusting at them since they came out two years ago. And do you want to know a secret? I bought one for my bff who was moving away after graduation (bc i think buying someone a great gift may be even better than getting a great gift) right when they came out. So now you are thinking I must be the most awesome friend ever right? Wrong! After I bought it I thought about it more, I didn't think she would appreciate how awesome it was (or maybe I just didn't want her to have something I didn't have?) so I returned it! Funny but true story. Instead I ended up throwing her a surprise party that she was definitely surprised at...so I think it all worked out.

Anyways, I think the gold one in the center of the first picture would look so great layered with my other gold jewelry. I am not sure why but I have always loved jewelry with keys/locks. I think old fashioned keys are just sooo cute. If I collected anything I think it would be vintage keys...however collecting things takes waaay too much energy!

don't you think this key thats also a watch is maybe the most adorable thing you have ever seen?

And now tiffany has their tiffany lock collection and OMG they are sooo cute! I wish someone would buy me a lock and a key from tiffany...maybe the lock on a bracelet and a key on a long necklace?

How much do you love these? Until next time, xxoo!

7 Current Obsessions

If you know me well, you probably know that I have the shortest attention span known to mankind and that I get crazy obsessed with things, but as quickly as these obsessions come they also disappear pretty quickly too. For instance if I find a dish I love I could eat every day for every meal and be totally happy...that is how deep my obsession can run. But this only lasts a few weeks until I move on to the next new thing. Here is a look at my current obsessions.

1. Hunger Games Trilogy

Well I read the books last summer and totally fell in love with the books and totally wished someone would make a movie out of the books because I wanted to see how some of the things described would look in real life. The friend who introduced me to the books thought that they wouldn't make a movie out of it because it would be too gruesome. Fastforward to March and a date has been set for the movie's release next year and everyone is talking about it! I am literally so excited I can't contain myself. For everyone who has read the books, I want to see what the fire costume will look like! After all the excitement I decided to re-read the books. And it only took me less than a week to re-read all three.

2. Broccoli Mac and Cheese Soup

My favorite thing to eat is probably soup. I LOVE soup...I am not sure why...but its just sooo delicious. And my favorite place to get soup in Singapore is The Soup Spoon. Every few weeks they have a new special soup and last year they had this AMAZING soup called Broccoli Mac and Cheese. It is basically broccoli cheese soup with some random macaroni. Its like the most delicious soup I have had in Singapore. I wish they would make it permanent. Its finally back this week and I have already had it twice! I could eat for every meal...literally!

3. Mila Kunis' Oscar Dress

I absolutely love this dress...as I am sure the rest of the world does. It is the perfect amount of sexy, romantic, lacey and girly. Aaah I seriously can't stop staring at all the details of this dress. I wish I was rich and could own a dress this perfect.

4. Jose Eber Clippless Curling Iron

There is a very limited selection of hair supplies in Singapore. Just last week I spent an hour with P at the mall looking for bobby pins and found NONE anywhere. So when I was in the market for a curling iron, I did't have too many options. But I have to say that my Jose Eber curling iron is awesome. Supposedly this is from Los Angeles (I don't remember ever seeing this there). It is clipless so I have to wear the glove or risk burning my hands...but I love how it makes both wavy beach hair and glamorous curls...and is so much easier for me to use than a normal curing iron. I am telling you...you should go out and get one!

5. Bosu Ball

So P and I have been hitting the gym a lot and I have totally become obsessed with the Bosu ball. Like I've definitely seen it around...there was even a Bosu ball class at the spa when I used to work there. But I'm not sure why I've never really discovered its awesomeness until recently. It is fun to use because it is like a mini bouncy house but it also is such a great workout too. I wish there was Bosu ball class here!

6. Sky High Wedges

I love wedges..they are so comfy compared to normal heels, so it makes it easier to wear sky high ones. I just bought this pair from Pedro...and they are probably between 5 to 6 inches high! But they don't hurt much at all...and of course you remember the wedges I bought at haji lane here. I am loving wedges right now!

7. Gold Jewelry

I have always been more of a silver person...even my gold jewelry is white gold...so it looks silver. But lately I have been obsessed with yellow gold jewelry and lots of it! I think it started with some gold bangles I bought back at home...and then that gold necklace I bought in sri lanka...and now my most recent find this great gold necklace I ordered from shopbop. I am thinking that i want a few more bangles to add to my collection. I love layering tons of gold jewelry on right now...I am just a bit sad it doesnt match well with all my silver jewelry.

What are you obsessed with right now?

Bibigo

J and I found this great restaurant in Raffles City (my favorite shopping mall in Singapore...I don't know if its just because its familiar since I spent lunch break there every day during my short stint at the hotel or if its just awesome) a while ago. It is called bibigo, but it wasn't until just last week when I went again that I realized that it is a chain! And there is one in LA!

It is supposedly healthy Korean food...they have variations of bibimbap and you can pick from white rice, brown rice, barley, or black pearl (no clue what that is). I always get brown rice. In the pictures it looks like full brown rice, but I think since they are cheap in Singapore they mix it with white rice, which is lame....but what can you expect in Singapore? Anyways you pick your rice, your sauce, and your meat/tofu. Its delicious and I like to pretend its healthy...anyways bibimbap is the only Korean food I really eat...so this is perfect for me!

I am not sure why bibigo impresses me so much...i think because it is a Korean chain that randomly has one shop in Singapore, one in LA (near UCLA) and one in Beijing...its just so randomly spread out and also it is sooo delicious. Finally something in my blog that people at home can check out too! Until next time lovelies, xxoo!

Glamorous Weekend

I have always wished that I had a glamorous life...where I could get all dolled up and wear fancy dresses often. Well two weekends ago I had a taste of the glamorous life and it was AMAZING!

Sometimes I love my job...it comes with great perks like getting invites to some awesome events (ok some are the ones I plan...so I might be biased). But two weekends ago, at the end of our 2 day conference, we threw a reception at the ambassador's residence, and then the next day we were invited to the George Washington Ball! I mean these are events that I would have never been invited to if it weren't for my job!

Here are some pictures from the reception (which was my first solo-ish event at this job!)

The spread!

The spread part 2

Outback Steakhouse (yes we have that in Singapore too!) sponsored cocktails

And now for the George Washington Ball! Random fact, last year when I worked at a hotel (where by the way, if you are an important guest they stalk you online to find out every detail possible) we had this lady stay with us who is some awesome event planner, who did all the hit social events in Singapore. I totally wanted to be her and thought her work was sooo awesome. Well when I got to the ball, I saw her (random hotel guest online stalking totally paid off!) and was waay excited...and then I found out that she actually helped plan the event to make it more glamorous than it used to be. Such a random coincidence right?! Well it certainly was glamorous and a lot of fun...a great end to a stressful week!

such a gorgeous venue...Shangri-la Singapore

pretty table set up

theme= White tie & diamonds

j, me and p

Aren't you jealous? The best part of all these events is that I get fed for free...because that is what I spend all my money on in Singapore. I wish my life was always this awesome! Until next time lovelies, xxoo!

PS. the day after i had the most amazing massage ever in Singapore...checkout Wen Luxe Spa (service sucks as always in Singapore but the massages are heavenly!)

PPS...these aren't my pictures!

So True....Soccer Fan I am not

I am changing my So True thing to be on any day because it is too hard for me to remember on Thursdays. Anyways, I was soooo busy last week with this big conference and we had a last minute event with some soccer stars. And like apparently everyone and their mothers know who these soccer stars are, but I had never heard of them. Do you recognize these people? (they get more famous the further you go!)

Well if you didn't recognize them, don't feel bad neither did I! They are Cobi Jones, Eric Cantona and Pele, who apparently is as big of a deal as Muhammad Ali, but I actually did not have the patience to finish reading the wikipedia article on him so I am not sure if that is correct. In fact, he is such a big deal that almost everyone I have met since I found out we were hosting this event, has known who he is! I even spent most of the time pretendning to know who he is...and agreeing that he is this super influential athlete when I still have no idea why he is SOOOO awesome. What is with the world's obsession with soccer? It seems like a bigger deal than the olympics, but its just one sport.

I mean guess I should be really impressed by meeting then, but instead they will forever be ingrained in my mind as the three soccer stars who made my life incredibly stressful for one week!

Picture from our event

So tell me this...are you a soccer fan??
